About Trek Eleven.
A camping app for Australia that tells you how fresh its information is, so you know what to trust before you drive there.
Why it exists
Anyone who has driven a long way to a campsite knows the feeling. The gate is locked, the track is washed out, the fee has changed, or the place is simply full. The listing did not lie so much as fall behind.
Trek Eleven is our answer. Every fact about a place carries a date and a source, so you can tell what was checked last week from what nobody has looked at for years. When something is out of date, it says so.
We also think a camping app should work like a good paper map: open it, look around, plan your trip. You only need an account when you want to add something yourself.
Who is behind it
Trek Eleven is a small, independent Australian project, run by one person from Busselton in Western Australia. It is made for campers, caravanners and 4WD tourers, and we try to say plainly what is finished, what is still an idea, and where our information comes from.
Where we are starting
The South West of Western Australia. One region, done properly, before we grow region by region. You can already browse what is on the map.
What we are building.
Six small promises. If we ever break one, tell us.
Every fact shows when it was checked
Old information fades, and a place nobody has checked says so plainly. See how we check.
Look around without an account
Browse the map and every site page. You sign in only to add a photo, a report or a check.
Set your vehicle once
Choose 2WD, AWD, 4WD, caravan, big rig or rooftop tent, and access notes are flagged for what you drive.
Saved sites open without a connection
Saved and recently viewed sites open with no signal. Full offline maps are planned for soon after launch.
Updates can wait
We never force an update on a working install. Do it at home on Wi-Fi, not halfway up a track.
Free to use, and clear about the rest
Anything paid is labelled and never changes ranking, reviews or dates. Read how we make money.
Where we are now.
Trek Eleven is in testing. The website and the web app are there to look at, but nothing is launched yet. We are looking for 20 to 50 campers, caravanners and 4WD tourers to try it first.
What we will not do
- Copy another app’s or website’s listings, photos or reviews.
- Make you sign in just to look around.
- Invent a fact about a place, or say a place is safe. We say what was reported, and when.
- Let anyone pay to change a ranking, a review or a “last checked” date.
