Help.
Quick answers about Trek Eleven. It is in testing, so some things are still being built, and we say so where that is the case.
Using Trek Eleven.
Do I need an account to look around?
No. You can browse the map, the lists and every site page without signing in. You only sign in when you want to add something, such as a photo, a report or a check. There are no passwords and no emails: you sign in with your phone’s screen lock, Face ID or fingerprint.
In the current testing version of the app, that sign-in is only a trial. No email is sent, and what you add stays on your own phone.
Where can I try the app?
The web app is open for testing at trek11.com.au/app. It runs in your phone’s browser. App Store and Google Play versions are coming.
Want to help test it properly? Join the testers.
Does it work with no signal?
Sites you save, and sites you looked at recently, open with no signal, because the app keeps those pages on your phone. The map itself needs a connection for now. Full offline maps are planned for soon after launch.
What does “set your rig” do?
You tell the app what you travel in: 2WD, AWD, 4WD, caravan or camper trailer, motorhome or big rig, or a rooftop tent. You can pick more than one. Access notes and reviews are then flagged for your vehicle, and you can filter sites to match. Change it any time in Settings.
How do points and levels work?
They are an early concept, and nothing is decided. The idea is to thank people who keep information fresh: points for adding a photo, tapping “still like this?” while you are at the camp, reporting a problem or helping check a new site, with levels that climb as the points add up.
The example levels you may see (Day Tripper, Weekender, Trailblazer and Local Legend) and every number are drafts, and they may change.
Is it free?
Trek Eleven is free to use. How we make money explains how we may cover our costs later, and the rules that keep that honest.
Trust and safety.
How do I know the information is right?
You cannot know for certain, and we will not pretend you can. Every fact shows its source and the date it was checked, and places nobody has checked say so. Treat those as suggestions, and confirm with the park or the council. How we check explains it in full.
Where does the information come from?
OpenStreetMap volunteers, Main Roads WA’s list of road stopping places, official alerts from Emergency WA and Main Roads WA, and our own checks. We never copy another app or website. The sources and their licences are on How we check.
Does it show road closures and fire bans?
Not on this website yet. We plan to show official alerts in the app in the official words, with the source and the time. Until then, check Main Roads WA, Emergency WA and DBCA park alerts before you travel. They are linked at the bottom of every page.
Something is wrong or closed. How do I report it?
In the app, open the site and tap “Report a problem”. It goes straight to the Trek Eleven team, who check it and fix the listing. If you report the site closed or the track washed out, the site page also shows that straight away as “reported by a camper, not confirmed”, so the next camper can take care. You can also contact us.
If the place came from OpenStreetMap, fixing it there helps everyone who uses that map.
Your information.
What do you collect about me?
Only what the features need. If you join the testers, your email address. If you run a park and claim a listing, the details on the form. When the app opens to everyone, what you add (photos, reports, checks) will be saved with your account and the time.
Your location is used only if you allow it, for things like checking that you are at a camp, and the app is meant to work if you say no. We do not sell your personal information. Our privacy page is a draft that a lawyer will check before launch.
Can I have my information removed?
Yes. In the app, go to Settings, then Account. “Download my data” gives you a file of everything we hold about you, and “Delete my account and data” removes it. For anything else, email hello@trek11.com.au and tell us what you would like removed. The privacy policy has the details.
Parks and money.
I run a park. Can I update my listing?
Yes. Claiming a listing is free, and you can correct your facts and add your own photos. It never changes where you rank or hides a review. See the details for parks.
Can anyone pay to be ranked higher?
No. Anything paid is labelled, and nothing paid changes ranking, reviews or “last checked” dates. How we make money has the rules.
How do I contact you?
Email hello@trek11.com.au, or use the contact page. Trek Eleven is a small project, so please allow a little time for a reply.
