How it works.
Trek Eleven is in testing. This page describes how the app is meant to work, and where the information on this site comes from today.
Open the map
No account, no sign-up, no email. Browse every site on the map or in the list.
Set your rig once
Choose 2WD, AWD, 4WD, caravan, big rig or rooftop tent. Access notes and reviews are flagged for your vehicle, and you can filter by it.
Read the dates
Every fact says who checked it and when. Facts older than 12 months fade and say “not checked since”. A site no one has checked says so plainly.
Save the sites you want
Saved and recently viewed sites open with no signal. Full offline maps follow soon after launch.
Say “still like this?”
When you are at a site, one tap tells us the page is still right. It refreshes the “last checked” date for the next camper.
Report a problem
Closed, wrong fee, track washed out. Your report comes straight to us and we fix the listing. A closure or a washed-out track also shows on the site page at once as “reported by a camper, not confirmed”.
Sign in only to contribute
To add a site, a photo or a review, you sign in with your phone’s screen lock, Face ID or fingerprint. There are no passwords and no emails.
Where the information comes from.
We label every place with where its facts came from, so you know how far to trust it. Three layers, kept apart.
Trek Eleven checks
Someone from Trek Eleven visits, records the facts fresh and adds the date. Only these places get a “checked” mark. Today that count is 0, and we show it on every place page.
Main Roads WA stopping places
Rest areas and roadhouses beside the state’s roads, from a Main Roads WA list shared under a Creative Commons licence (CC BY 4.0). We show it as supplied. We have not checked it.
OpenStreetMap suggestions
OpenStreetMap is a free map that volunteers edit. Its campsites appear as “unverified suggestions” in their own layer. They may be closed, private or wrong. We never mix them into our own checked list.
If you spot an error in an OpenStreetMap place, the best fix is in OpenStreetMap itself. Everyone who uses that map gains.
What a check covers
About five minutes on site. A check records the location, the fee and how you pay, toilets, water, showers, power, dogs, bins, phone signal and which network, access for each type of rig, how many sites, shade, a photo of the entry sign, two wide photos and a one-line note. Every fact stores its source and the date.
What we will not do
- Copy another app’s or website’s listings, photos or reviews.
- Make you sign in just to look around.
- Force an update on a working install.
- Say a place is safe. We say what was reported, and when.
Check before you go
Roads, fire bans, park closures and weather change quickly. Trek Eleven does not show live closures yet, so use the official sources too.
